It’s not a holiday if there’s no mac and cheese. Follow these steps to make a zesty, vegan and gluten free mac n cheese that’ll have your guests craving seconds.
We love this recipe because it's easy to make and it add's an incredible burst of flavor to the to traditional Mac n cheese dishes.
Your List of Ingredients
1-8oz package gluten-free elbow pasta
1 tbsp organic yellow mustard
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 stick or ½ cup vegan butter
2-3 tbsp Allergy Schatz Fugitive Fry Mix
¼ cup non-dairy buttermilk
¼ cup vegetable stock
Recipe
Note: When you melt the butter, things will move quickly so it's best to have items handy before starting.
Preheat oven to 350°. Cook your gluten-free pasta according to the package. Drain, rinse, and set aside.
In a 4 qt pot, melt the vegan butter. Then add in yeast, stock, buttermilk, Fugitive Fry Mix and stir vigorously with a whisk until ingredients are well blended and the sauce is creamy and thick.
Turn off stove and remove from heat. Immediately add mustard and stir quickly with whisk.
Toss drained pasta into creamy sauce until well coated. Transfer pasta and sauce to oven safe baking dish.
Place in oven on middle rack and cook for 20-25 minutes or until top is golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
